Finding treasure

SAMSUNG CSC

Did you know…?

Northern Norway lies above the Arctic Circle and is a wonderland of treasure…

The Northern lights illuminate the dark skies of winter, and the midnight sun provides endless days of summer.

The midnight sun also gives extra energy making it very easy to forget to go to bed at night.

A landscape of skerries, boat-houses, lapping waves and the cries of gulls ease away tension.

Would you like to see the treasures I found on my recent trip north…

  1. I love Norway so much. Been twice in my youth and would love to revisit it someday. Beautiful country. Thanks for the pics!

  2. Beautiful, Maggie! I was in Oslo and Bergen for a few days last month and wanted to go North. Actually I wanted to stay for the summer, but my travel companion made me come back to Minnesota. Maybe next time I will just stay.

  3. A treasure-trove indeed, Maggie! Your grand-daughter’s diadem of wildflowers is a treasure in itself. Lovely to see Mr. Hamsun’s house, it’s jollier than I’d have imagined, and I love his mossy roof. Glad you’re having such a terrific summer. 🙂

  4. Yes, Hamsun always claimed to have come from humble beginnings, but his house looked quite grand to me. Especially when you think of how long ago he lived there… But I will say one thing, it’s way out in the middle of nowhere!

  5. Jeannette from the CA coast

Beautiful scenery, as always, from Norway! Your grand-daughter is adorable with her floral headpiece:) Thanks for sharing your treasures with us.

  6. You live in a beautiful country filled with joy and life. There is a special reverence that I have for the “north.” When I was young, I lived in a mining town in northern Manitoba Canada until I left for university. I remember the winter night skies filled with shimmering colours and summers that never ended. You reminded me of those remarkable moments. You have given you granddaughter a gift that will remain in her heart forever…

  7. Beautiful pictures Maggie and I love that house

  8. Looks like you are having a wonderful summer! What a gorgeous head piece!

  9. Beautiful, Maggie. And your grand is such a doll ♥ So do you actually eat a cloudberry? This is a new one on me! I love the midnite hour….I could handle it for summertime at least. 🙂

  10. The people in the North fight over the cloudberries, they love them! I have tried them several times and don’t really care for them. They are eaten with whip cream because they are a little sour and they have tiny pits that crunch in your teeth.
